for the girls choosing themselves:

there is not one person on this planet entitled to treat you like shit.

imdatfeminist exists for one reason — helping women rebuild self-love and find the strength to walk away from relationships that shrink them.

new message!
hey queen, it's time to finally block him!! <3 <3

why we exist

Too many women stay in relationships that cost them their sense of self, because leaving feels harder than staying, or because they've forgotten what they're worth outside of someone else's approval.

imdatfeminist was built to close that gap: between knowing something is wrong and actually having the tools, language, and community to do something about it.

We're not therapists and we're not here to tell you what to do with your relationship. We're here to remind you that self-love isn't selfish — and to walk with you while you rebuild it.

who's behind this

a sister act, obviously ✧

Hallie

The visionary and icon behind imdatfeminist — the voice, the vision, and the reason this whole thing exists in the first place.

Mimi

Hallie's sister and right hand woman — the editor behind imdatfeminist, whose eye has helped shape the vision, voice, and overarching themes that define the brand.

A quick note: early press (including our NBC feature) named only Hallie. That was Mimi's choice at the time, made for privacy reasons — not because she wasn't there. Mimi has been the editor of imdatfeminist since the beginning.

imdatfeminist is run day-to-day by sisters Hallie & Mimi on Instagram and Twitter — built from everything they wished someone had told them sooner.

block him.

straight from the feed ✧

If you catch yourself BEGGING someone for... human decency? a response? time together? clarity? respect?... You need to take a step back and realize that you're begging someone for the bare minimum.

Pay attention to PATTERNS, not potential. Patterns have happened. Over and over. There is a pattern of behavior when it comes to the ways that this person has let you down, hurt you and disappointed you. Potential? Hasn't happened, and who knows if it will? Trust patterns.

view on x →

Breakups hurt. You know what REALLY fucking hurts? Trying to "make it work" with someone who has PROVEN to you TIME AND TIME AGAIN that they do not give a fuck about your feelings. THAT hurts.

view on x →

Realizing that you're incompatible with someone (because they don't meet your BASIC standards of courtesy, respect and reciprocation) and choosing to walk away instead of forcing it/blaming yourself/fantasizing about their potential is a superpower. Look how much you've grown.

view on x →

It should disgust you when someone isn't sure of you. When they want you sometimes. Or only parts of you, not all of you. It should make you feel violently ill to spend a second thinking about or spending time with someone who doesn't completely and utterly VALUE you. And RESPECT YOU. And want you in their life. All of you. And feel LUCKY that you are there with them. And CARE ABOUT YOU. The same way you care about them. You will never settle for crumbs again once you realize that you just.. don't have to. "Take it or leave it," their actions, their inaction and apathy will tell you. So leave it. They can take their crumbs and fuck off. You deserve more. You deserve the whole cake and some fucking candles too.

Reframe from "I was stupid" to "I was misguided." You didn't know what you didn't know. Embarrassing? You put it all out there because you really cared. It's brave. Pathetic? You wanted it to work so you did everything that you could. What's pathetic about that? Forgive yourself.
